We study the moderate deviation probability of the position of the rightmost particle in a branching Brownian motion and obtain its moderate deviation function. Firstly, Chauvin and Rouault studied the large deviation probability for the rightmost position in a branching Brownian motion. Recently, Derrida and Shiconsidered lower deviation for the same model. We investigate the statistics of polymer capture by a nanopore using Brownian dynamics simulations. It is found that when the velocity flux is greater than a critical velocity flux, the capture picture is a random selection process, otherwise it tends to a statistical process governed by energetic considerations. In addition, the chain ends capture probability decreases as the chain length increases and satisfies a power-law scaling of P0(N)~N-0.8.  相似文献

We show the short-time existence and nonlinear stability of vortex sheets for the nonisentropic compressible Euler equations in two spatial dimensions, based on the weakly linear stability result of Morando and Trebeschi (2008) [20]. The missing normal derivatives are compensated through the equations of the linearized vorticity and entropy when deriving higher-order energy estimates. The proof of the resolution for this nonlinear problem follows from certain a priori tame estimates on the effective linear problem in the usual Sobolev spaces and a suitable Nash–Moser iteration scheme.  相似文献

This research is made to visualize the boundary layer flow by a curved stretching sheet embedded in porous medium. The geometry is bended(curved), therefore the curvilinear coordinates are used to model the present problem.Fluid is electrically conducting with the presence of uniform magnetic field. The governing non-linear partial differential equation reduces to non-linear ordinary differential equations by using the dimensionless suitable transformations. The numerical solutions are obtained by using the method bvp4c from MATLAB. The effects of curvature parameter, nondimensional magnetic parameter, and porosity parameter on the velocity field and skin friction coefficient are examined.The skin friction profile enhances with enhancing the values of porosity and magnetic parameter. Comparison of the present results with the existing results in the literature for the flat surface is also given.  相似文献

We develop the asymptotic expansion theory for vector-valued sequences (FN)N1 of random variables in terms of the convergence of the Stein–Malliavin matrix associated with the sequence FN. Our approach combines the classical Fourier approach and the recent Stein–Malliavin theory. We find the second order term of the asymptotic expansion of the density of FN and we illustrate our results by several examples.  相似文献

It is possible to make sense of conditioning this process to be in the state 0 at an independent exponential random time and if we kill the conditioned process at the exponential time the resulting process is Markov. If we let the rate parameter of the random time go to 0, then the limit of the killed Markov process evolves like X conditioned to hit 0, after which time it behaves as X killed at the last time X visits 0. Equivalently, the limit process has the dynamics of the killed “bang–bang” Brownian motion that evolves like Brownian motion with positive drift +μ when it is negative, like Brownian motion with negative drift ?μ when it is positive, and is killed according to the local time spent at 0.An extension of this result holds in great generality for a Borel right process conditioned to be in some state a at an exponential random time, at which time it is killed. Our proofs involve understanding the Campbell measures associated with local times, the use of excursion theory, and the development of a suitable analogue of the “bang–bang” construction for a general Markov process.As examples, we consider the special case when the transient Borel right process is a one-dimensional diffusion. Characterizing the limiting conditioned and killed process via its infinitesimal generator leads to an investigation of the h-transforms of transient one-dimensional diffusion processes that goes beyond what is known and is of independent interest.  相似文献

Many properties of Brownian motion on spaces with varying dimension (BMVD in abbreviation) have been explored in Chen and Lou (2018). In this paper, we study Brownian motion with drift on spaces with varying dimension (BMVD with drift in abbreviation). Such a process can be conveniently defined by a regular Dirichlet form that is not necessarily symmetric. Through the method of Duhamel’s principle, it is established in this paper that the transition density of BMVD with drift has the same type of two-sided Gaussian bounds as that for BMVD (without drift). As a corollary, we derive Green function estimate for BMVD with drift.  相似文献
